EUGENE J. HEIMANN, DEPUTY – Deputy Heimann died in the line of duty on March 21, 1988 at the age of 33. Deputy Heiman was killed while investigating two suspicious persons believed to be burglary suspects. While attempting to frisk one suspect the second suspect produced a hidden handgun and shot Deputy Heimann five times.
