FY 2020-2025 Consolidated Plan Survey
Fort Bend County is in the process of developing a Consolidated Plan that will cover the period from September 1, 2020 to August 31, 2025. The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) requires that Fort Bend County state in the Consolidated Plan its plan to pursue the five-year goals for all community planning and development programs including the Community Development Block Grant Program (CDBG), the HOME Investment Partnerships Program and the Emergency Solutions Grant Program (ESG). HUD also requires that the County reflect disaster-related unmet recovery needs related to housing, homelessness, infrastructure and economic development.
Fort Bend County’s CDBG, HOME, and ESG funds can be used within the unincorporated areas of Fort Bend County or within the incorporated limits of the following cities: Arcola, Beasley, Fairchilds, Fulshear, Kendleton, Meadows Place, Needville, Orchard, Pleak, Richmond, Rosenberg, Simonton, Stafford Sugar Land, and Thompsons. CDBG and HOME Program funds cannot be used to provide services for residents or fund projects within the cities of Houston, Katy, Missouri City, Pearland, or Weston Lakes.
Your input is needed to identify areas of need within your communities and to recommend five-year funding priorities. Attached is a survey form that lists needs by different categories. Please complete the survey form, provide comments and return to the Fort Bend County Community Development Department by March 30, 2020. The information provided in the survey will be used to prepare the FY 2020-2025 Consolidated Plan draft, set the funding priorities for FYs 2020-2025 program funds and update the County’s Fair Housing Plan Analysis of Impediments.
