Michelle Jochen began working in the District Clerk’s Office in 1992.  During her 21+ years in the District Clerk’s Office, Michelle has worked in various capacities including as a Customer Service Representative, Clerk III, Appeals Post Judgment Clerk, Family Division Supervisor, Criminal Division Supervisor and currently serves as First Assistant District Clerk. 

Michelle has accumulated a vast amount of knowledge working for various offices and with hard work and true passion she has strived to make a difference as the First Assistant District Clerk of Fort Bend County, Texas. Her dedication and love for this office has always pushed her to improve personally and professionally and she will continue to use her strong management, supervision, and administrative skills to benefit the office as well as the citizens of Fort Bend County by continuing to improve the customer service provided by our office.

Jesus Acevedo has been employed with the District Clerk’s Office since 2005. He has advanced from a Clerk to the First Assistant District Clerk within 11 years working as a dedicated public servant. He has gained experience in the Family, Civil, Criminal, and Accounting departments within the District Clerk’s Office.

Jesus’ top priority is to serve the courts and the citizens of Fort Bend County with first-class customer service.

The Honorable Beverley McGrew Walker
District Clerk

Beverley McGrew Walker is currently serving as the 45th District Clerk of Fort Bend County.

        Beverley McGrew Walker is a native Texan who has deep roots in Fort Bend County history dating back to the 1800’s. Her third great grandfather registered to vote in Fort Bend County in 1867 and other relatives have been on Fort Bend County property tax rolls for decades. Beverley is a licensed attorney who practiced law in both Harris and Fort Bend Counties prior to being elected Fort Bend County District Clerk in November 2018. 

         Beverley has a wide range of experience working with the public in various organizations. She was the first African American woman elected to the Houston City Council. She was an admission’s officer at Texas A&M University where she directed the University’s Houston area outreach program which prepared junior high school students for college. 

         Beverley was employed by the Texas Engineering Extension Service where she worked with women and minority owned businesses to help them succeed in obtaining contracts with The Texas Department of Transportation.  She is also a former Spanish teacher and counselor in the Houston Independent School District.  She is bilingual and speaks Spanish fluently.

         Beverley defines her duty to the public as being one of trust, integrity, transparency and accountability.  She takes seriously the role bestowed upon her by The Texas Constitution which is to provide support for the Fort Bend County District Courts.
